Wednesday of Passion Week:

The Bible does not give us much information as to what Jesus did on Wednesday. It’s believed that He remained in the home of Lazarus and his sisters. No doubt Jesus spent much time in prayer, both with the disciples, as well as alone. Perhaps some of the disciples went to buy food for the Passover meal that would take place the following day.

Mary took her costly oil of spikenard and poured it out on Jesus as an act of love and worship to Him. The Lord corrected Judas Iscariot for condemning what she had done. Judas then left the house and went to meet the High Priest with betrayal in his heart.

Then one of the twelve, whose name was Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, "What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?" And they paid him thirty pieces of silver. And from that moment he sought an opportunity to betray him. (Matthew 26:14-16)

As we pause to remember Passion Week, and all the pain and suffering our Savior endured, let us bring Him our own act of worship today. What could we bring to Him as an offering? A prayer? A song? A meditation from His Word? Perhaps all three.  Set aside some time today and tell Him you want to give of yourself to Him as an act of worship. Bless the Lord at all times, but especially today.

She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial.  Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.”
(Mark 14:8-9)
