Greetings friend,

It’s finally here! The Grand Opening of the Restored Life Center at RCC! The chairs have arrived, the coffee center is almost ready, the 7-stall restrooms are beautiful, but wait! Something is missing! YOU! I hope you’ll be joining us at one of our two Sunday services at 9am and 11am, AND I hope you’ll be bringing a guest with you. This is the perfect moment to invite your family, friends, and neighbors to come check out the new church in town.

On another note… our asphalt won’t be here until Tuesday so we can’t park in the graded dirt. Bummer. We need your servant-heart again! Would you commit to parking in the north lot of Eagle High School and jumping on the shuttle bus to RCC? It’s a fun 2-minute ride, it’s easy, and hey, you might meet someone you’ve never had the chance to meet! More importantly, you’ll free up parking space for all the first-time guests coming to see what church is all about. Thanks in advance!

Now for a word from Pastor John Collins, Men’s Pastor at RCC:

Baseball is the great connector. It provided a language my father and I could speak. He brought me to my first professional baseball game. It was at the Coliseum in LA, prior to the construction of Chavez Ravine. I’ll never forget walking through the tunnel and being taken aback by the rich green grass of the outfield and the stark white jerseys of the Dodgers, worn by heroes named Sandy Koufax, Maury Wills, Wally Moon, and Gil Hodges. I don’t remember all that we talked about, but it was about baseball. As I grew and learned to play the game, it was my dad that taught me how to straddle the bag and make a sweep tag and how to throw a curveball. Baseball was our connection all the way to the end. I was just a teenager as he lay dying in the hospital. My last words to him were, “I’ll be back tomorrow to watch the game”. It was the World Series, the Orioles and the Reds - game two. He passed that night and I watched the game alone the next day. But our love affection had been cemented through baseball, the great connector, and God used it to ease the pain.

We have an opportunity at RCC to make connections among family and in our community. On Friday, June 14th @ 7pm leading into Father’s Day, we have arranged for a special day at the ballpark with reserved group seating, an all-you-can-eat meal plan, and an opportunity to meet some of the players. Maybe there’s a son, or grandson, or some boys down the street, with whom you can make a connection by taking them to the ballpark. Whether its dads bringing daughters, or mom’s bringing dad’s, whatever the connection, it’s an opportunity for God to work. So, make a memory, honor a father, or bless a child - baseball is the great connector, a universal language that spans every generation. I hope you can make it. Register online.
