I.C.A.N. UPDATe
I.C.A.N. team,
Another Victory Update;
An update for House Bill No. 239 in the Department of Education:
The Idaho Senate just passed House Bill 239 that puts control back in parents' hands in Idaho schools regarding sex education. Currently parents have to OPT-OUT of instruction in human sexuality but this new bill, taking effect July 1, 2025, will require parents to OPT-IN. No more assuming consent and no more letting schools decide what is appropriate behind closed doors. This new bill clearly states that the school must give parents and legal guardians a 2 week notice on the content of the instruction as well as an opportunity for them to review the instructions materials. This is a win for Idaho parents and a win for Idaho children!
Thank you,
Pastor John Collins
