The morning drizzle and cold has me drinking my morning coffee near our fireplace. It causes me to be a bit more reflective, as well. These past few weeks, before Thanksgiving, have caused me to reflect on God’s goodness this year. Not only has my Heavenly Father been good to me personally and to my family, but he’s been so very faithful to our church, too. In my reading today, I came across a passage that filled my heart.

This Sunday we continue our series called The Heart of Thanksgiving and I hope to see you for this special time together remembering and celebrating the goodness of our God. Allow me to encourage you to bring a friend with you as we enter into this special season of celebrating our Savior and the love that saved our souls forever. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with goodness. Psalm 107:8-9

This Sunday, just hours prior to the elections, I am going to talk about why you and I need to be involved in the process, as well as speaking up to proclaim God’s truth, in love. The world shouts that Christians shouldn’t bring their faith into politics as they quote a familiar phrase – separation of church and state – but is this true? Is that phrase in the Constitution? Did Jesus speak on this subject? If so, what did He say? My message is called The Separation Delusion.

This Sunday I’ve called all of Restored Community Church together for 1 Service @ 10am for a holy convocation of prayer called “A Cry to Heaven”. This is a first for our church and you’ll want to be there for this special event – calling on God to save America. As we inch closer to election day – the most important election of our lives – we need to come together and ask God for mercy and grace as a people and as a nation. We see examples of this in the Books of Joel, Deuteronomy and others as examples of moments in history when God’s people desperately needed God’s forgiveness and favor.

For the last several weeks we’ve looked at passages telling the story of God’s people who’ve walked with God, turned away from Him, and then repented, returned, and experienced God’s Restoration and forgiveness.

On Sunday, October 27th @ 10am, we will come together to hold one large service in order to pray for our country to repent and return to God as His people in order that America might be sparred for a time of revival and salvation. We’re calling this special day – A Cry To Heaven.

This Sunday we’ll look at the former fisherman – Peter – and his bout with failure and how Jesus restored him back to his mission in life. How about you, have you ever experienced a failure that took you down and out for a time? Perhaps you’re there right now. I want you to know that God has not thrown you to the side. He’s waiting for you to repent, return, and be restored back to the purpose for which you were created. Everyone gets 2nd chances, and 102nd chances. Come here the message, “A Pardon for Peter” this Sunday!

This Sunday we begin a new series called “A Cry to Heaven.” Over the next few weeks, we will study the lives of some of the most well-known biblical characters in God’s Word in order to see how they fell to sin, and what they did to return to the Lord in order to walk with Him and continue on in their mission.

The many stories of fallen people like King David, and many empires bears this truth out; “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” Proverbs 14:34

This Sunday we continue our study called “Scandalous” from the Book of Hosea. As you may know, the Nation of Israel had pulled away from God and the vows they had made centuries earlier after leaving Egypt in route to the Promised Land. They had taken on many of the traits and practices of their pagan neighbors and had left The Lord on the sidelines of their daily lives. Many times throughout these years God would send prophets to warn them of a coming judgement but Israel would not listen, much less obey the word of the Lord. They wanted to experience life without God. Be careful what you ask for… When the patience of God finally ran out, Israel would pay a high price as their enemies came – wiping out many thousands of Israelites, and taking many more as slaves back to their Assyrian homeland. God had warned them, but they would not listen.
